The Girl Effect

A friend of mine sent me a link this morning to a video that just blew me away.  This is very cool!  Please take a moment to watch it.   Here are a few words from the website:

The invitation above is from a Ning (social networking page) created by David Califa to spread the word about this event - timed to occur on the eve the opening of the Beijing Olympics.

The recent history of Tibet, since the Chinese invasion, is a modern atrocity.  The most disgusting crimes imaginable have been perpetrated against the Tibetan people  with absolute impunity by the Chinese. What's more, the Tibetans did nothing whatsoever to provoke or incite the Chinese...nothing to deserve this devastation of their homeland...and homes....and lives.

This is a systematic form of genocide layered over with the classic platitudes of deflection, deceit and disinformation used by "liberating" dictatorships throughout modern history to avoid recrimination and consequences. How long will it go on unchecked?

Please participate if you can. Even this small symbolic gesture can garner significant attention if enough people join in.
