Another artist was inspired by a positive....hopeful....muse this week.
had been wanting to make some "hopeful" pieces to express some of
the high hopes that are gradually spreading throughout the land. It
seems like a good idea to focus on the positive and to welcome change
with open arms!
Of course, the next step for me
is to explore the idea a bit further - perhaps adding a touch of irony
.... I'm already planning a similar piece with arms hinged at the
elbows."
I'll look forward to the irony. It provides comic relief...and makes us smile.
She calls this piece "With Open Arms".
Here's one of my favorites, from her Etsy site. It's called "I Spy" --
The juxtaposition of textures and colors she's achieved here just blows me away.
My little granddaughter (who is 5) liked it so much, she made her own 'homage' drawing --
Check out the MastWoman's website to browse her portfolios. Her work has beauty, drama, sensitivity, emotion, originality and a good deal of humor. It's an unbeatable combination.
Let me know what you think!
